neither here nor there
In my thesis, neither here nor there I work with LGBTQ identifying movement artists to practice ways of subverting the expectations of space through subtle and expansive movement scenarios. Through performance, we question the quiet obedience of these normative spaces and look for moments of rupture that bring us back to the body.
Thinking about the disconnection between architecture and queer desires, this project interrupts home improvement stores through improvised group movement scenarios. This work also looks to critique the home improvement space as a stage for normative desires and consumption, the performative actions here call for a new paradigm.
